About
Born in Reading, England, studied Graphic Design at Reading college, and University College Falmouth.
Mark Andrew Webber is working in linocut printmaking, abstract painting, and typographic design. Based in Reading, UK, Mark has been creating artwork professionally for over 15 years.
His early career included city map linocuts—hand-carved from linoleum—depicting places such as Berlin, Paris, New York, and London. These large-scale works led to commissions from brands and awards from the International Society of Typographic Designers and the Art Directors Club of New York.
In 2014, Mark contributed to MTV Re:DEFINE, a charity auction in Dallas, Texas, to support the MTV Staying Alive Foundation. The linocut he created for the event took two months to carve.
More recently, Mark has focused on abstract line-based works inspired by natural forms, such as the ripple of raindrops or the flow of energy. These pieces combine rhythmic patterns with geometric elements, examining repetition, texture, and the balance between control and spontaneity.
His work has been exhibited in galleries across Europe and the UK, and he continues to show regularly. He also organizes participatory events, including life drawing workshops and public art projects.
Mark’s art involves craftsmanship and an interest in form, place, and process, whether through a single line or a layered print.
